Drop off or schedule a pick-up of new or gently-used children's books. We accept books geared toward children ages 0–10 in good condition. Pick-ups available for donations of 100+ books in Summit, Portage, or Medina Counties.

Book drives are the lifeblood of Bright Star Books. Within your neighborhood, workplace, school, or place of worship, organize a drive to collect books for children who need them most. We'll provide everything you need to get started.

HOW TO RUN A BOOK DRIVE
Book drives are the lifeblood of our work. Here's everything you need to run a successful one.
Get Permission
Secure a location — your school, workplace, neighborhood, or place of worship. Once you have permission, email [email protected] with your name, location, and dates.
Spread the Word
Announce your drive about two weeks in advance. Use our sample email templates or craft your own. The more people who know, the more books you'll collect!
Set Up a Drop Box
Designate a collection spot. Print our sign to mark the donation area. Tip: don't make the box too big — a full box of books is heavy!
Collect & Count
Collect books geared toward children ages 0–10 in good condition: board books, picture books, leveled readers, and early chapter books.
Bring Us the Books
Count your books before dropping them off — it saves our volunteers a ton of time and lets you share the total with your donors right away.
Celebrate!
Give yourself a pat on the back! Thanks to your efforts, many kids will be excited to share a book with a loved one. Post a selfie with #IRock!
